A basic interpretation of a classic! Boiled and cracked lobster, served with a sticky bisque of onion, fennel, garlic and tomato, and Sauce Mornay.
Lunch in the Garden?
Over these Summer months, if it's a nice afternoon, why not book for an intimate lunch out in our back garden?
Here at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh a warm welcome, good food and an enjoyable dining experience is all part of the philosophy we believe in. I have a broad experience of world cuisines but love to experiment with new ideas, so both our members and guests can expect regularly changing menus with a variety of home-made foods ranging from comfort to sophistication.
We believe everyone should be able to enjoy delicious food so vegetarian guests and those with special dietary requirements are always welcome at our tables.

Peploe Dining Room
The Peploe Dining Room has a bright and welcoming ambiance and is the Club's main dining facility. It overlooks the delightful gardens of Rutland Square and is graced by some of the Club's many fine paintings. Used mainly for lunches and dinners, the Peploe Dining Room can accommodate 30 persons, increasing to 56 when opened up to include the adjacent McTaggart Room.
Lunch is served from Tuesday to Saturday, 12.30 to 2.00pm and snacks are served at other times in the Club Room. Lunches, dinners and suppers are arranged after many events. All members are asked to book for lunch and all special events.
Named after the renowned Scottish landscape painter, Sir William McTaggart (1835-1910), the McTaggart Room is a charming space, ideal for private functions such as lunch or dinner parties, receptions and business meetings. When set up for dining, the McTaggart Room can accommodate 26 diners. For larger parties, the space can be opened up to include the Peploe Dining Room.
