At The Scottish Ornithologists’Club
Laura Gressani organised a visit for Club Members to the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club (SOC) in Aberlady, where she had recently started as Exhibition Co-ordinator. The SOC is a charity supporting the observation and protection of birds. Its headquarters, the beautifully purpose-built Waterston House, overlooks Aberlady Bay and houses an art gallery dedicated to the natural world. Those visiting the current SOC Exhibition by John Threlfall, were able to make the best of any bird spotting opportunities with the help of a specialist. After the visit, lunch at a nearby cafe was optional for those interested. There were plenty of beautiful walks along the bay for those wanting to make a full day of it.
Parking is free at the SOC if you are driving or the East Coast Bus X5 departing from Lothian Road (outside the Caledonian Hotel) stops just outside the SOC.
Free but please book by contacting Laura directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, or sign in on the sheet in the hall.
