PREVIEW FOR EXHIBITION: WEDNESDAY 4th OCTOBER 6-8pm CLUB ROOM
Born in Manchester, James Tweedie, a current elected RGI (Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts) and former member of the Glasgow League of Artists (1974/75) and the Glasgow Group (1988/91), has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout is successful career, winning the William Bowie Award, Paisley Art Institute (2003) and the Maude Gemmell Hutcheson Prize, RSA (2010). He is a regular exhibitor at the RSA, SSA and RGI.
James works from real places which he morphs into dream like , ethereal and surrealist urban landscapes, which puzzle yet capture the viewer’s attention. The Scottish Arts Club is excited to have his RSA 2015 Award Exhibition in October.
Accompanying James’ exhibition is the Craft Exhibition, featuring Philomena Pretsell, SAC VAS Award Winner 2016. Her exhibition is entitled ‘Curvacious Pink Curves’
