The Yale Alley Cats, Yale University's premier all-male a cappella group, cordially invite you to an afternoon of old hits, tender ballads, jazz standards, and everything in between. Please join the Cats in our seventy-fifth season as we visit Scotland for the first time in over a decade, and prepare to hear classic pieces presented in a novel way: without the instruments! We hope you'll enjoy our unique brand of refined all-male harmonies, stylistic expertise, and witty charm, and that you'll conclude, as Aretha Franklin did not long ago, that is our music is "mm-mmm delicious!"
Since our founding in 1943, the Yale Alley Cats, Yale University's premier all-male a cappella singing group, have performed in all corners of the globe. We’ve recently returned home from performances in Australia and New Zealand, but earlier this year we ventured as far to the West (from the American perspective!) as China and as far to the East as Istanbul. Though originally rooted in the classics of American jazz music, our repertoire has expanded over the decades to include everything from madrigals to pop hits, from Scottish folk tunes to Motown oldies. Our diverse repertoire, combined with our engaging performance style and musicianship, enables us to entertain all sorts of audiences, including world leaders and celebrities. In recent years, we have sung for former President Obama, former President Bill Clinton, Jay Leno, Aretha Franklin, and Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden.
