"Tamas Fejes was born into afamily of musicians in Szeged in Hungary. At the age of 10 he won second prize in the "Janos Konez" national violin competition. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and while at the Academy he gave numerous recitals and made several appearances on Radio and TV.
After graduation he continued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Tamas lead and co-lead various orchestras in Germany and carried on giving recitals, concertos and chamber music concerts in the UK, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, USA and Hungary.
He was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London.
Currently he is the assistant leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and also a part-time tutor in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Since 2006 Tams is the leader of the Fejes Quartet which participated in several festivals in Hungary, France, Italy and Scotland among others. In 2011 they released their debut CD. In June 2014 they recorded Christopher Wright's four string quartets for Nimbus record label which was released later that year. Tamas has also recorded Bach's complete Sonatas & Partitas for unaccompanied violin for Discovery Music and Vision label which has recently been released".
